Sheridan rallies his forces - including those of the other races - to stage the first attack against Clark: to free Proxima 3 from the Earthforce blockade. He orders Franklin to speed up his research into freeing the telepaths recaptured from the Shadows, as part of a plan that he won't yet divulge. Londo attempts to make amends with G'Kar, but is rejected. Sheridan wishes to test which of the destroyers in orbit of Proxima will join him, and which ones are loyal to Clark. During an intense battle, Captain Macdougan of the Vesta joins with Sheridan, but the fleet commander, Captain Hall of the Heracles, is determined to bring Sheridan down - until his first officer deposes him. The Furies is non-combatant, the Juno withdraws from battle, the Pollux is destroyed, and the Nemesis surenders. With Proxima 3 freed, Sheridan and the other ships willing to join him begin to move toward Earth. G'Kar finally agrees to Londo's intent to release a joint statement promising Sheridan the support of both the Centauri and the Narn. Garibaldi leaves for Mars, promising never to return.
Notes: The Shadow telepaths were first introduced in Ship of Tears, and Sheridan's plan for them finally revealed in Endgame. Londo refers to the drink G'Kar bought him before the war between their races broke out - a reference to G'Kar's misplaced toast in The Coming of Shadows.
The soundtrack of this episode is available on CD.
Guest Cast: Richard Gant makes his first appearance as Captain Macdougan (seen again in The Face of the Enemy). Ken Jenkins (Captain Hall) appeared in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Evolution.
